Archives for the month of: September, 2012

These three categories go hand in hand, as many people already know. You can get updates on fashion and celebrities via the internet (especially social networking) on technology. The connection between fashion, celebrity and technology was displayed through my google alerts.

For example my fashion alert, alerted me about Holmes and Yang’s Summer 2013 collection launch at New York Fashion Week last Thursday. Or you can find interesting news about the mysteries of a celebrity like how Emma Watson and Selena Gomez are on the most dangerous celebrity list. I know what you’re thinking, how could those two lovely celebrity girls be on that list? Well the answer to that is they are both ‘top searchers’ for internet hackers. Yes thats right, they are so popular that scammers and hackers have been using their names to gain information. And finally another way you could of looked up both these articles via google alerts, is on your new iPhone 5 which is currently making headlines all around the world. My google alert informed me that the phone is said to be slimmer, faster and lighter then previous models.

SPRING

FASHION

OMBRE

This whole post is dedicated to one of my favourite trends seen around Melbourne, Ombre. Ombre can be described as blending two or three colours or even dip-dye.  Ombre can be seen in jumpers, shirts, shorts, nails and ever hair (can also be known as dip-dyed however can come in both a natural and un-natural look). I love this trend because of how universal it is among women, no matter who you are, you can be apart of this amazing trend. Celebrities are obsessed with ombre, like Drew Barrymore’s hair is a perfect example of a ‘natural’ looking ombre. The best part is that it doesn’t take a particular ‘look’ to pull this of or any type of skill (although with the hair you might want to take your time or even seek a professionals advice). Another great thing about this trend is it allows creativity, for example you can paint your nails or even tie-dye your own shorts! This is a fun and colourful trend for Spring and one that is very popular around Melbourne.

This video is one of the first that I’ve seen from the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. The video shows not only amazing pastel, slight fluro and other popular trends that we can be expecting this season, but also behind the scenes with Kevin Murphy. The video also shows mens fashion which is great, my particular favourite look would be around 0:15 in, I love the casual yet designer feel to the look. All the women’s outfits are gorgeous and they all have bright red lips. I love the top at 0:09 which is a spring ‘must have’ and already very popular around Melbourne.
